- Leave Lerwick on the A970 northbound toward Toft.
- Drive about 27 miles (45 minutes) to Toft Ferry Terminal.
- Take the ferry from Toft → Ulsta (Yell).
- Drive north across Yell to Gutcher Ferry Terminal (about 20–30 minutes).
- Take the ferry from Gutcher → Belmont (Unst).
- After arriving in Unst, follow signs to Baltasound.
- Turn slightly left with signage to Ballista
- Solan House (Baltaview) is then viewable as a stand alone white property with the road turning right and then left into the private drive on the corner. The house is next to the leisure centre car park in Baltasound, and almost opposite the school. Postcode ZE2 9DY.
