Tucked away on the eastern edge of the thriving community of Sandwick, 15 minute drive from both Lerwick and Sumburgh, Sandfield is ideally placed to explore the rich archaeological sites, spectacular coastline and pristine beaches of the South Mainland, with easy access to the rest of the Mainland, including the Outer Isles, which can be reached in a day trip.
ACCOMMODATION, Two-storey
GROUND FLOOR, with underfloor heating.
KITCHEN. Cook up a storm in the full sized, very well equipped kitchen, with all the usual appliances, including hob, oven, fridge, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine and sharp knives for keen cooks. Breakfast table seating four with lovely view to the garden.
UTILITY ROOM. Use the laundry facilities if you’re staying for longer and access the washing line outside from this handy space off the kitchen, complete with freezer, microwave and air fryer.
STUDY. Be creative or relax with a good book in this very light, bright space, up a level from the kitchen, with access to the sheltered upper garden, great for alfresco breakfast in the morning sun.
BATHROOM. Treat yourself to a soak in the bath or a refreshing walk in shower in the spacious downstairs bathroom, after a busy day exploring.
LOUNGE. Share a sociable evening in the upper lounge, with its low beamed ceiling and comfy sofas. Enjoy a peerie dram, take in a film on Netflix on the Smart TV, browse a book from the eclectic library, a game of Scrabble or plan your next adventure using the range of books, maps and guides provided.
Guests favourite place to relax through the day, is the sunny lower lounge, with comfy seating, dining table for the evening and French doors out to the south facing patio. Full height floor to ceiling glazing on the south gable floods the space with light and frames the sweeping view to the sea.
FIRST FLOOR. Enjoy a restorative, quiet sleep in one of the two spacious, light bedrooms with vaulted beamed ceilings, windows to the garden and velux roof lights. The south bedroom has an en-suite shower room. Sleep soundly under quality cotton/ linen bedding and feather and down duvets.
OUTSIDE. Chill out or eat out in one of the various outside seating options, in sun or shade in the sheltered flower filled garden, designed for birds and bees. There’s free private parking adjacent to the house at the top on the short drive. Unfortunately due to the age of the property, its steps, stairs and changing levels, the house might not be suitable for guest with significant mobility issues.
Linen, towels, electricity, heating and high speed fibre WiFi are all included in the rental. Mobile and broadband signals are both very good.
