Ortolan House is the family home of Rebecca, Phil & daughter Ayda who also own the highly acclaimed Noss Boat – Shetland Seabird Tours.
Ortolan House is a large Georgian townhouse with notable history, dating from the 1780’s & situated in the leafy conservation lanes area of central Lerwick, overlooking the harbour.

They have two beautiful rooms to let on the second floor of the house, both en-suite, tastefully decorated & with fine harbour views. The house has a large, sheltered, walled garden & quiet location. It is comfortable, relaxed place to stay & a perfect base to explore from.
Whimbrel Room (Peerie Whaap) is a spacious, 2 x double bedded room with fine harbour views and large walk in shower within the en-suite bathroom. Curlew Room (Whaap) is a slightly smaller twin bedded room with an attractive, en-suite bathroom and harbour views.
Breakfast is a large, locally sourced, continental style, with daily variations, from large fresh fruit bowl, cereals & yoghurts, to bacon baps in local Sandwick Bakery rolls, free range Fair Isle boiled eggs, fresh rhubarb compote & mixed local toasting breads with Shetland butter & jams. There is a private B&B dining room on the ground floor which also has a small shop selling Fair Isle Knitwear, photographs, art prints, books & ceramics. Ortolan House B&B are proud members of a “Taste of Shetland”.
