Easy access to superb coastal walks, beaches and stunning scenery on Burra Isle. Local shop, garage/fuel on Burra. Cafes, shops and leisure facilities in nearby Scalloway and Lerwick. Holmfield shares a location with our own house and Red Houss artist's studio. Small garden seating area.

There is parking beside the house and additional parking outside the gate.

Holmfield has an entrance hall with space to remove boots and hang coats. There's a kitchen/dining room and a sitting room with two settees and a writing desk. The two bedrooms each have a double bed and large built in wardrobes. There is a shower room with an electric shower and a utility room with a washing machine and freezer.

Holmfield is a bright house and, with all the rooms facing south or west, you'll get the sun when it comes out.

The following facilities ensure that your stay at Holmfield is comfortable and warm:

• Freesat TV and books, maps and games, free wifi
• Storage heating with panel heaters in the bedrooms
• Integrated kitchen appliances: dishwasher, ceramic hob, electric oven, fridge
• Kitchen equipment for those who like to cook
• Microwave oven, toaster, kettle
• Iron and ironing board and hair dryers
• Linen, towels and electricity are included.

There are usually friendly Shetland ponies grazing on our neighbour's croft. From the house you can walk in the open countryside of East Burra and along the interesting coastline. The meadows around Holmfield are full of flowers in the summer and attract birdlife. We often see seals and otters cross our land.

Our artists' studio, Red Houss, next to Holmfield, is open to the public and you are welcome to visit. We produce silver jewellery, paintings and artists prints. Holmfield also has a collection of contemporary art by Shetland and other artists.

Full week bookings, Saturday to Saturday £800 per week.

Directions

From Lerwick it is a 25 minute drive to Holmfield using either the north or south roads. Follow the signs for Scalloway and before you reach Scalloway turn left, signposted Burra. Drive over the bridge to Trondra and another bridge which takes you on to Burra. Drive south through Burra following the signs to Houss. Just before the end of the road turn right signposted Meadows Road. Holmfield is at the end of Meadows road.
If you are arriving from Sumburgh airport turn left at the junction, signposted Scalloway and follow the directions (above) from Scalloway to Burra.
