Hirnik B&B offers warm hospitality and is in an ideal central location from where to explore Shetland. It is located close to the sea in the rural district of Quarff on the east side of mainland Shetland. The property is within a quiet picturesque setting of stunning coastal scenery with seabirds and wildlife nearby.
Quarff is on the bus route between Lerwick, Shetland’s main town and Sumburgh airport. Hirnik is a 10 minute walk from the bus stop. There is free private off road parking.
Hirnik B&B is approximately 20 miles from the airport and 5 miles from Lerwick where there are numerous cafes and restaurants. Scalloway, the ancient capital is a 10 minute drive where there too are eating places. The location is in a good position for sightseeing, walking and all that Shetland has to offer.
With your own private entrance to Hirnik, accommodation is compact and cosy, comprises of exclusive use of a small living room, bedroom with a kingsize bed (or 2 singles) and a shower room. These rooms are in a separate part of the property with minimal need by your hosts to access their private rooms.
Your stay will be partially independent with the inclusion of a daily Continental breakfast using local produce, when possible. A stocked fridge for your use is located in the shared utility area. Facilities include; sofa, table and chairs, microwave, kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery, TV, free wi-fi and hairdryer. For a small charge, laundry facilities are available on request, as are additional items, should you wish to take a packed lunch.
The accommodation is ideally suited to 2 guests, however, there is a sofa bed in the living room which can sleep 2 extra guests on the same booking. (Sofa bed opens to a small double bed and requires to be set up nightly.)
Regrettably, this property is unsuitable for anyone who is physically impaired as there are steps to the entrance door. The hosts have a dog; allergy sufferers please note.
