Situated at the heart of our family croft, the Aald Hoose is a traditional but 'n' ben style, self-catering cottage on the west side of Shetland.

The well-appointed accommodation sleeps six and comprises: Ground Floor – Living Room, Kitchen, WC, Jack & Jill Shower Room and Double Bedroom; Upper Floor – Double Bedroom, Twin Room and further seating area on Landing.

Bed linen, towels, hairdryer are included.

Over the past few years the property has been modernised and renovated to a high standard, providing a fully contained, relaxing and cosy base to experience and explore Shetland.

It is a great spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and technology, as currently we do not have internet or telephone services available.

You can lend a hand on the croft if you wish and, depending on the weather (and availability), there is always a chance to launch our small Pioner boat off the beach for fishing, exploring the local caves and maybe catching a lobster or crab in our creels for a delicious and cheap dinner.

There is an abundance of bird and wildlife, which is enhanced due to our established trees, wildflowers around the croft and the freshwater burn running along the boundary. There are local coastal walks nearby with magnificent cliffs and beaches.

Through the winter seasons you can often enjoy the spectacular displays of the Northern Lights/Aurora Borealis, known locally as the Mirrie Dancers, and stunning sunsets.

Check in is after 8:30am to suit those coming direct from the ferry from Aberdeen. Check out is at 11am date of departure, unless otherwise arranged.

Smoking is not allowed in da Hoose and we do not accept pets.
